Got this dracaena 3 weeks ago, the tip of the leaves keep getting scorched. I put it in partial sun light, water every 10 days. Any ideas why? Thanks y’all.

I have a Janet Craig dracaena and from much research and experience, it does not like regular tap water. I had brown leaf edges and brown spots on the leaves. It does much better with RO or distilled water. I’m not sure if it’s the chlorine, fluoride, or minerals that it doesn’t like. Same with calatheas. Mine gets minimal sun in the morning.

0 Mi piaceHave you tried this? I still wonder how safe this is? You’re replacing chemical additives with another chemical. And how does it detoxify minerals. They still are present but supposedly not harmful? Just seems safer to use RO or distilled water, but I’ve no experience or knowledge about this products use on plants.

1 mi piaceYes, that's my bottle. It's removing chemical additives that have shown to be harmful to plants, causing browning and even death. Replaced with inert chemicals even the most delicate fish species can tolerate. I have RO and Distilled for carnivorous, and some of my more expensive plants. But I use this on everyone else, and it works great. I'm seeing less browning tips on a few plants (that get misted or are near a humidifier, so it wasn't a humidity issue). Buying distilled water is expensive. No to mention RO is great but for $200+ for a unit and about $200+ a year to correctly rotate filters. Or constantly buying the 5gal jugs of it. That's not in a lot of people's budgets. Where as water conditioner is about $10 for a year supply for a normal collection. I learned about this from an orchid grower, and those are some of the most persnickity plants out there lol
