Too much 😖 They have a 21ish day life cycle, they lay their eggs in the leaves which keeps them protected from topical treatments. They then drop down into the soil and come back out as they mature. It’s important to treat both the leaves and soil throughout the entire cycle (and longer). Depending on where you live will determine the soil treatments you have access to. I cover the top of my soil with Diatomaceous earth, and spray the foliage weekly. I continue this treatment for at least 21 days, and consider it back at day one if I see any mature adults. Try to keep the DE dry. Isolate your infected plants if you can as thrips can fly to others in the vicinity. Remove any leaves you see signs of thrips (silvery patches on undersides with occasional black spots).
