Help! I went on vacation for 2 weeks, just got back, & several of my plants really got hit hard even though I had people checking on them 🥹 Any hope for my rattlesnake plant? The third picture is her right before I left. Since I first got her, she’s been struggling.

Well I have to say…thats pretty bad. I would snip off the leaves that are beyond saving. Even if there is a little bit of good leaf left keep it. Just keep an eye on watering and change the lighting to a darker area so she can heal from the straight sun she seems to have gotten

Typically I have her under a grow light on a timer, and I reduced the timer while I was away. I don’t know if that change had anything to do with it either? I’m sure humidity was drown drastically too

    Do you ever fertilize it?

I use a liquid fertilizer when I water. You add it in with the water

First of all - whoever was “watching” your plants owes you a new one 🥲 but I would check the root ball for root rot (just cause I always do when a plant is dying) and then trim away anything dead and see what happens. I’m so sorry!

what type of water are you using? in all honesty this plant doesn’t look too bad. i would check the roots, being very careful and shaking away old soil, trim any dead, and repot in a chunky media, then flush thoroughly with rainwater. prayer plants can’t handle the excess chemicals and minerals in city tap water so i recommend either collecting rainwater or using a pitcher filter to fill your watering can and adding a drop of aquarium water conditioner, like API or seachem prime, to dissolve the remaining chlorines and chloramines in the tap water.

Typically I use water that I had gotten from the sink, but I let it sit out for several days in gallon jugs so that all the chemicals hopefully evaporate out. I might have to do this, but with water from my fridge. I never thought of the aquarium drops. Thank you!
