I water these plants once a week since I’ve had them. Since last fall, leaves are turning brown. I tried watering less but no change. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong.

    I have found with my prayer plant that it needs distilled water. I've tried filtered water and it still didn't stop the leaves from browning around the edges. Plus they need a very humid environment. I have been struggling with mine since I got it 10 months ago. It seems to finally be making a turnaround since I started with the distilled water.

    As for the peace, Lily, is the soil well draining? They don't like to get completely dried, but they also don't like sitting in water.

    Also check for any mushy, rotted roots and trim them off. Even if you changed to watering less frequently, with rotted roots it won't matter until they're gone.

    some find that their calathea needs distilled water. mine lived on tap water for 9mo before spider mites got to it and unfortunately the mites won, but it was doing wonderfully before that. i think you're just overwatering.

    Also check the light levels!!! If the leaves turn yellow and aren’t crispy it’s probably because of root root (reasons for root rot are : too big of a pot, not enough drainage, and a soil mix that holds water for too long) if the edges of leaves are crispy it’s probably due to too much light
