You just put it into water so there’s nothing really but time and waiting in this case. Inspect the roots and allow for patience

Oh! Also….. you have way too much water in a glass that doesn’t suite too well for its needs. Try something more shallow

Yours might end up drowning it… and this isn’t a professional opinion but I learned from mistakes . Focus on the bottom where the roots are only
0 Mi piaceNgl, why does it sound like a bad idea to keep plants in a library-
0 Mi piaceHowever give that little guy something to prop himself up on, that way only the roots are touching the water. That looks like a dracaena and (from personal experience) they get rot easily.
0 Mi piaceI think it looks like a spider plant baby. I usually use an old spice jar to root those because the opening at the top is small enough to hold it up a bit
1 mi piaceLooks like a spider plantlet? Maybe place it on a moist paper towel in a loose partially closed ziplock bag. The humidity might help the plant from drying out and the moisture from the paper towel will encourage root growth with (hopefully) not too much water leading to rot. That’s what I do when propagating my spider plant. GL
0 Mi piaceIt looks like a spider plant to me! They propagate very well and grow quickly :) I have always stuck mine in water like you have yours and it was absolutely fine. They root quickly. They’re pretty hearty plants.
