What are these little white spots all over my mother of 1000? Does anyone know? They don't seem to be moving and they don't look like mealy bugs. I think I'm going to do the alcohol and Q-tip thing anyway.

I think they’re one of the younger forms of gnats. Not fully developed yet

I've never seen them before. I took alcohol on a Qtip to them. Then sprayed with Neem and treated the soil with a hydrogen peroxide mix. It's in quarantine. That better do it. lol

I'm pretty sure that's what they were. Don't understand where they came from.

They show up out of nowhere don’t they? I just sprayed a plant I’ve owned for months with neem yesterday cuz the top cluster of leaves was sticky and covered in young aphids like this. Yuck.

I have to check and spray all of these today. 3 different plants and 3 different problems in a month. 🤷🏼🤷🏼🤷🏼

Aphids find your plants. My Hoya Bella had three infestations of aphids in a year’s time no mater where I moved the plant! The orange aphids came first, the black ones came 6 months later and the white ones came 3 months later in spring when I moved the plant back outside. Bella has never been the same! 😁

That stinks. I've dealt with gnats, spider mites and mealy bugs but this was a first. Now I just noticed powdery mildew on my jade. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It's been a couple of crazy plant months.

Let us not forget the snails and slugs that opened up this growing season! My plants are finally recovering. I had to chop and prop my dragons tail to cut out the damaged leaves. Fortunately, it’s very easy to propagate in water.

it’s almost as if finding untreated plants to feast on was what pests did for a living! 🤣

the white skins are leftover from a tiny green aphids that are having a ball in your plant room. I’d recommend spraying them ALL down with a hose or in the shower and then applying soap vinegar mix or insecticidal soap. Nematodes help with slowing the population underground. Aphids like gnats and thrips have wings and if you leave them alone with your plants for too long they’ll take over within weeks.
