I have my big monsteras in a SW facing window and recently noticed these “burn marks” on just one leaf of each plant. Other than that they are very healthy and giving new leaves consistently. I’ve added pictures of said marks and also what the full plant looks like. What is going on with them! Could it be too much sun?

Looks like it got burnt from a tool like a wood burner or a curling iron it looks too perfect to be just sun burn

That’s what I was thinking but I don’t see how that would happen though

Check the underside of the leaves for tiny black dots. Like teeny tiny. If you see those, it’s thrips. That’s kind of what the damage looks like to me.

I’ve looked over all the leaves and there no signs of bugs. Theres another one really close to these and that one has no damage at all on the leaves

That’s really weird. It does look like burn marks from a hot tool or something. 🧐

Yes I agree especially since they’re so “perfect” and on that one leaf I’ll have to do some serious “investigating”

That's really strange. Is it possible there's some kind of reflection off something that was intense? Like off of water or through a glass, onto those areas?

I’ll have to look around and see what I can find I’m just confused what it could be

maybe the leaf with the hot-tool-mark was scraped by something while it was still rolled up, so the damaged area was sort of precise? idk just a wild guess
