What is this funky stuff growing in my ZZ plant’s soil? Should I be concerned?

It’s mold but don’t panic! Add cinnamon to the surface of the soil. It should remove the mold. If you continue to see mold and also if you can either way, I would repot it in a chunkier soil with extra drainage! This happens when moisture builds up

Oh, that makes sense, thank you! I’ll try the cinnamon for now. I’ll repot it over the weekend

If you have neem oil it works well but I also definitely recommend a smaller pot not because of the mold but to keep your zz happiest

Looks like maybe some kind of mould or fungus from your soil not getting a chance to dry out, I’d recommend removing the little bits of fuzzy stuff and for a quick fix, put on some antifungal like neem oil and wait for the soil to dry until you water next. Or, you could consider repotting in say a terra cotta pot where you don’t have to worry as much about moisture buildup

Yes terracotta can definitely help!- I just recommend keeping an eye on the pot itself for mold build up because since the terracotta holds moisture it can cause mold growth as well. I personally use a clear plastic pot with lots of drainage and a chunky mix !
