Fiddle leaf fig just popped out a new leaf, but it has a bunch of red and brown spots :( I’ve seen a bit of spider mites so I’ve been spraying it with captain jack’s deadbug spray every other week. Should I start spraying it more often or try something else?

Red spots on fiddle leaf fig leaves are often caused by edema, which is a symptom of inconsistent watering. Edema occurs when a plant's roots absorb more water than the leaves can use, causing pressure to build up and the leaves' cells to burst. The dead cells appear as blisters or dark bruises that are 1–3 mm in size and are only found on new growth. Edema spots are red or brown in color, don't spread or get bigger, and don't leave holes. They will fade over time as the leaves grow out.

So sounds like I just need to be consistent with watering? Makes sense, thank you!!
