I have this juniper bonsai (I believe) and was gifted it this christmas. I think she’s still alive but I don’t know a whole lot about taking care of her. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. She’s drinking from water in this bowl currently

Has anyone transitioned their bonsai to hydroponic? I have only found 1 article online. Any tips or tricks? Certain species that do best? (Photo from online article)

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if I can get some tips on taking care of my bonsai tree. I just got it gifted to me today. I have been told it is a juniper bonsai, it is about 4 years old. The last time it was watered was today. So any tips or advice would really help. Thank you :). I did put the bosnia in last night because it was raining really hard.

So Misaki has two little sprouts that popped up from the soil, do I let them continue to grow out or do I need to prepare to pull them and replant? Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated!

This Mt. Fuji Serissa is losing leaves. It’s receiving lots of indirect light and followed watering instructions. The leaves that yellow seem to be on the dry side. The pot has drainage so when I water, all of the water drains. Is this normal? Any recommendations?

So I bought this guy probably a year and a half ago now. Unfortunately my cats decided to eat him bald one day, I didn’t want to get rid of him (we’d already named him Terry the Tree 😢) so I decided to try him out in a terrarium. He seems happy as these are all new leaves. I also take measures to make sure it doesn’t get too moist in there, as I’m worried about root rot. He’s even reaching for the top but I try to form those below the lip to fill in that area. Not all sides grew back as well:( **also all cats are fine!! They’ve been to the vet multiple times since and all things are well :)

I was gifted this Chinese Elm a few months back, my first Bonsai. It had spent far too long in a gift wrapped box 📦 🤦‍♀️ I’d no idea what was inside it Worse still when I opened it, loads of the crappy coco fibre substrate had been displaced & most of the roots were exposed 😳 So no doubt despite being the wrong time of year & when the poor fella was already stressed it experienced a repotting. Fair to say my First Bonsai got off to a hideous start although I did use a specialist Bonsai Mix to replant it back into the same pot instead of the coco fibre. Getting to the point (I think the history is important here???), All the new leaf growth circled in Red is huge compared to older leaves circled blue. Is this a sign of the stress it was under, should I be doing something else like pruning (it’s really lost it’s lovely shape) or should I just leave it be till it’s had some time to recover?

Hi y’all. I just got this plant as a gift and this is a new area of plants for me. I’m unsure on how to properly take care of this guy and researching online has really confused me. It was given to me with a new terracotta pot that has a drain hole. I repotted it with an all purpose soil (it’s what I have at the moment) and is placed in the window next to my AC/heater. Should I do anything else to it? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Once again I’m worried about my bonsai . The leaves keep falling randomly and they are very weak to the branch I’m going to try and leave it next to the window tomorrow after fertilising just now. Are there any more steps I must take to ensure its safety?

I’ve had my juniper bonsai for over a year and it hasn’t grown. It sits the same window with about 8 hours of bright indirect light daily. It’s next to a heat register, and I water it from the top and in the saucer beneath. The leaves started to brown on the end of the branches, so I trimmed the brown bits and changed the soil to bonsai soil about a week ago and made sure the roots had plenty of room to grow in the soil. But now the ends are starting to brown again. Any advice/ideas as to why the tips are browning and it’s not growing?

i recently got this weeping fig (im pretty sure thats what it is) from my friend, any tips? im a relatively new plant mom for reference. it was in a window that got around 8 hours of sunlight a day since that was what my friend recommended, but planta said it was too much so i moved it here where it gets maybe 3 ish hours of direct sunlight but bright light most of the day. ive been watering it every 3-4 days. anyways i wouldnt mind some advice, i dont want to kill my first bonsai :)

First time repotting

My first time repotting a tree and I have no idea if I’m doing this right or not. I’ve put the tree next to the window, I used good drainage aggregate, cactus potting soil, and some fake green moss to help with the moisture control. It doesn’t seem to be growing much at all but that could just be due to the shock of being repotted early. I’ve also tried to trim some of the larger leaves to encourage new growth of smaller leaves. Any other tips I could benefit from?

My Natal plum isn’t doing too great. He’s got good drainage and I was watering him as recommended. I repotted him because it seemed that the previous pot was too small. Any ideas or tips to help?
