My mom has had a ficus bonsai for about 8 years now. It’s been the only plant she could keep alive. Now that I’m getting into plants she wants me to repot it. I’m just a bit worried about how to go about that. I don’t want to kill it after she’s kept it alive all these years! What kind of pot would be best, soil, etc. Any tips and advise is greatly appreciated 🙂🪴❤️
How do you get started with bonsai trees and where should I get one? Are they easy to take care of or are they a more difficult plant to take care of? Thank you so much!

so my baby bonnie has been doing so good the other day she was in direct beaming sunlight and caused the right side of her to burn a bit my question is should i chop any of what’s damaged off of leave as is also how often should o be watering this guy i feel like this app has me overwatering her
Started this little guy from a cutting that I’ve been rooting since 4/11. Bonus: it’s in a pot I made. Excited to see where it goes :)

I wanted to post this plant in both Bonsai Matters and Plant Recovery Room because, as you can see, it needs all the help it can get! I’m hoping that this plant can saved with the help of the plant community. A little background: I found an old (jade?) plant covered in mites and spiders in a broken pot. I think it was abandoned in my neighbors back yard from the previous owners and has been there struggling for 3-4 years, if not more. I’m hoping this plant can be a intro for me into more advanced gardening and the beginning stages of learning Bonsai. It’s in a cracked pot, but I’m interested in testing my green thumb, and Planta’s Community Groups and plant care reminders. Fingers crossed for a successful and unique outcome!

Hello, I’m new to the app and new to gardening but I love Bonsai and before I knew how much work Azaleas were I got this one (this past new year) when I got her she had a few blooms, but she was still about this size. And due to the water change (because got her out of state) she immediately lost all her leaves and blooms but since then I have given her softer water, she has gotten two new twigs that are starting to get buds so I know she still trying, but I was wondering if anyone could give me tips or tricks to help her? Thank you in advance!!
Was gifted a bonsai money tree recently. Today I noticed a sprout! Do I leave it, or prune it? If so, can I try to start another tree? Never did this before.
Just placed seeds today for a red maple bonsai, I know it can take up to a year before seeing anything. Any tips or tricks that would help with seeing some growth before a year greatly appreciated!
I'm moving in a few days and I was wondering if any of you had any advice on traveling with a bonsai. I'm mainly worried it'll flat out die in between here and my new place. Are there any best ways to pack it or protect it as it'll be on a long road trip (2 days) also I should mention, it's just under 2 feet tall
