Hi! This is my new ficus microcarpa. Is the green moss looking stuff on top of the soil okay for my plant? I figure it would be alright if it was normal moss, but it looks like it has been dyed a bright green.

Trying to propagate a Japanese maple softwood cutting about 8 inches. Cut all leaves but top 2, halved leaves, small wound, rooting hormone powder, seed starter soil with perlite, slightly open humidity dome. Outside under a covered porch. Yesterday, which was day 10, the leaves withered significantly. The stem seems healthy. Am I toast?

Plant: Ficus Microcarpa. Any tips?

Newbie to Bonsai here. This is my first tree, a schefflera arboricola. Just gave it a prune for its birthday. This is the first time sheers/scissors have touched it since I first put it in this new pot. I’m looking for any/all advice moving forward. And maybe what I could have done better. (Added some before and after photos.)

Hello! I’m a bit new to this app, but I thought I might make my first post asking for advice on a bonsai (Japanese Juniper) I was recently gifted. Although I usually have a pretty easy time with my other plants, I always end up killing my bonsais. I was wondering if anyone would have any pointers on proper bonsai care, more specifically for Japanese Junipers (as per the tag). In the past my bonsais have always dried up in an instant, so any advice is appreciated! As it’s a gift from my family, I’d really quite like to keep it thriving for as long as possible.

Ginseng bonsai... She's dropping some leaves, not as often probably 2x a week? I'm still confused about her watering. It's she supposed to stay moist or dry in between? She's on pure Akadama substrate. She's a month old with me. She's under 16 hours of grow light. I'm kind of worried. Any tips?

Looking for advice for caring for this ficus bonsai. It’s typically kept in a pretty shaded spot and I just moved it to an area that receives speckled indirect sunlight. I’ve pruned off some of the dead parts but looking for advice to give this baby a beautiful life!

I just planted some seeds that I got and it’s still a little chilly here in Wisconsin. Was just wondering how long to keep them under the grow light before moving them outside for the summer. Any suggestions?

I bought a bonsai growing kit and I think I messed up really badly. I germinated the seeds in the fridge for 2 weeks and then put it in a plastic bag with a warm wet paper towel. I kept it like that until the seeds changed colour which then I sowed it in the soil the kit provided. I may have soaked the soil wrong however.

My husband talked me into getting a bonsai... Any tips on how to take care of it are very welcomed! I have another bonsai but I’ve never had a juniper and I’m scared I’m gonna kill it immediately haha

best bonsai to keep indoors or if there’s any that could withstand zone 3-4? (northern midwest near canada) I have looked at ficus but i was wondering if there any unique ones that people recommend. or if any are hardy enough for these winters 🥶❄️ TIA!☺️

I was gifted this bonsai starter kit, and I plan on starting it up this weekend, any tips on what I should do. they are all starters so they’re all seeds. 🌳 any advice would be appreciated.

He’s not necessarily bonsai, just still little, but I thought I’d ask you. Is my dwarf Alberta spruce dead? Or can I still save him? I don’t think I watered him enough over the winter, and I probably should’ve moved him into a bigger pot sooner.

Does anybody know what kind of bonsai tree this is? I just got my first bonsai and im wanting to know how to care for it!

Decided to repot. This was my last bonsai pot more getting shipped. So ignore how bad it fits with the tree
