A mix of stuff tbh. Some bonsai books, YouTube channels, and my own trial and error ( with Plantas help ofc 😅). Starting from seed is fun and rewarding but has tons of stagnant periods before you will ever see a flower Years may pass before you ever see one. But it also makes them that much more rewarding. This plant has been my favorite to propitiate from seed since in order to get high success rate of germination, you gotta sand the shell on root side of the seed or else it’ll never germinate or will take like 5x longer (I experimented lol). Reminds me of a Royal poinciana that I grew from seed and my cat destroyed it when it was only about six months old. So gorgeous!!

That’s what it is! My cat also loves to go crazy on our plants and did with a few of The Doctors cousins 🙃. I’m sorry to hear. I hope you do it again some time!!

Okay!! I kind of lost my mind in the two years since then. Fell in love with plants and now have over 200 in the house. Not smart when you’re also learning. I have grown a jacaranda from seed and messed up the timing so that he is six feet now! Not much of a bonsai but he’s gorgeous. Also growing a wisteria that’s is finally doing well. There is definitely going to be another royal poinciana in my future though!! 🥰🥰
