    1. Cover the bottom of the pot with coarse grit. If the pot is lower of inch do not do this. 2 then add a layer of fresh soil that is well sifted so that only large particles are left. Make sure to add a mound of soil where the trunk will sit. 3 Then place your bonsai on the mound . 4 Then fill In all the gaps to get rid of air any pockets by pressing down on the soil gently. Place conditioner pellets if you have them

    akadama, lava rock, pumice all in 1:1:1 ratio. (small grain)
