Hi y’all. I just got this plant as a gift and this is a new area of plants for me. I’m unsure on how to properly take care of this guy and researching online has really confused me. It was given to me with a new terracotta pot that has a drain hole. I repotted it with an all purpose soil (it’s what I have at the moment) and is placed in the window next to my AC/heater. Should I do anything else to it? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a wonderful day.
I’ve had mine for a year and follow planta’s recommendations. With pruning you have to use your discernment. Sometimes I cut back 1/3 when it tells me to, other times not. It’s really not a fussy plant at all.
I have 4 of these bad boys, feel free to go check out their names. Haven’t had them long but i found the internet confusing as well. They can store water in their bulky trunks and can handle drought. I’ve also read they like their soil moist but not soaking. They like sun but more indirect. Apparently they are pretty easy to keep alive. I definitely have to start pruning though.
2개 좋아요 I’m going to be repotting them with bonsai soil and into bonsai pots. I think they do well in any pot though although I think a bigger pot helps to make the trunk bigger/longer.
