best bonsai to keep indoors or if there’s any that could withstand zone 3-4? (northern midwest near canada) I have looked at ficus but i was wondering if there any unique ones that people recommend. or if any are hardy enough for these winters 🥶❄️ TIA!☺️

Be sure to clip leggy growth to keep it healthy though, and a tall brown stalk means fruit is on the way
0개 좋아요 This would be good until it gets below freezing, which is fine as i expected to have to bring it indoors. It gets as low as -25 F for weeks at the worst here.

0개 좋아요On any bonsai, you need to make sure if it’s an indoor plant or an outdoor plant ficus usually are indoor plants. A lot of the conifers are outdoor plants. You can get all a lot of information on the web about bonsai’s and how to care for them and what climate they live in outdoors

Jades are pretty strong, as long as you keep them warm they’ll be okay
좋아요 1개For indoors, you can do any woody tropical plant. Ficus is truly wonderful for bonsai rookies; if you want an unusual one, willow ficus isn't seen as often. For things that can handle winter outside, try starting with a species that's native to your area. To tuck it in for winter, put it in a sheltered spot that gets rain and pile mulch up around the pot
