Help! My juniper is browning. It is outside and we get a lot of rain so I’m almost sure overwatering is the problem. It needs a better draining soil but I’m afraid to repot in winter. Should I just go for it? Wondering if some pebble top dressing might also prevent too much water from seeping in? Thoughts? Thank you!
If its killing the plant. Always just got for it, season aside. Just try to disturb the root ball as little as possible. Some rooting powder and or Mycorrhizal help with transplant shock. I wouldn't top with pebbles, as if it's being overwatered, it could contribute to water retention in the soil. I'd wait until you get a better draining soil and pot.

Try to wait for spring if it’s dying you can do it.
