      Thanks! You too! I’ve heard different methods like drying out the cutting for a few days so the cut end makes a callous, and then potting it in dry soil. Or just immediately planting the cutting. I used the second method. I follow someone on TikTok who is very good at bonsai in my opinion.

    I would have done the same. I am propping a donkeys tail right now. Slow but good progress.

    Yeah I’ve tried planting cuttings but I’ve only had one successful one so far. Everything I’ve read said not to water them but they always die. The cutting that I watered regularly (every second day or so) was the only one that actually grew roots. Hope you have better luck than me haha.

      That’s interesting, and the complete opposite of what I’ve read to have successful cuttings. This app tells me to water my main tree in 12 days. That’s when I also planned to water my cuttings. Trying to keep on the same schedule. But I’ll watch the leaves and adjust as needed.

      Mine live outdoors in full sun so I water them everyday and they suck up all the water. They don’t grow as fast indoors so they aren’t as thirsty, 12 days might be okay.

      But I leave cuttings in shade until they grow roots

    Propagated a cutting by putting it directly into soil an hour or so after the cut. Worked out well.

    I’m already getting new growth on my cuttings and I haven’t even watered them yet! This plant is so easy to grow. Haha

    I watered my two cuttings today because the leaves were showing slight signs of wrinkling. The water went right through the soil. There’s no way that any water was soaked into the soil mix. Are my pieces too large? I know it has to be well draining but it seems like it’s too well draining!

      I don’t know specially what soil the main tree in the photo is using. My wife bought the main tree for me at our local nursery.
