My mom just bought this plant, and when I looked it up it’s called ginseng ficus, but the pictures all have a brown, tree like stem while this one is green all over the bottom of it, also, is it normal for the leaves to have those little white dots? It’s from Costco, and it’s in a pot with no drainage holes, I guess I should probably re pot it, but if those white dots are pests or something, how do I deal with them? Also, when I identified this plant in the app, there was both a regular ginseng ficus, and a ginseng ficus “golden gate”, can anyone identify which one this is? Because mine didn’t really match either picture😭😭

    The green is probably just algae on the trunk; you can ignore it or scrub it gently away. The little white dots are a part of the leaf anatomy; if I remember right, those spots are where the leaf breathes. Definitely get it a pot with drainage. As for the name, there are several types of ficus often available for sale; "Golden gate" is a specific cultivar (an individual plant that gets cloned, as opposed to breeding) and its species is F. Microcarpa. "Ginseng" is another cultivar of F. Microcarpa, and has very distinctive bulky roots. The other common one is F. Benjamina. Yours does not look like a ginseng to me. I'd guess it's a golden gate
