Hi everyone! I am a new house plant enthusiast and just starting out! I bought this beautiful bonsai plant today and would love to know your best tips and tricks to care appropriately for this beauty. Any blog/youtube channels you recommend? To note: it is in a plastic pot with draining holes at the bottom. It is near a window that only receives indirect sunlight (very little now due to the rainy winter here!) and the soil appears to be an airy light mix of 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Thanks in advance for your recommendations🫶🏼

    I killed my juniper bonsai by not watering it frequently enough. I would check your specific tree to see what it’s watering requirements are. I think since the pots are so shallow they dry out more quickly and I just wasn’t prepared for that.

      I was reading that checking the soil's humidity can be a good way to not overwater or underwater...hopefully this method works well for my tree🤞🏼

    If your bonsai is not getting enough light, invest in a grow light.

    This plant is a Ficus Microcarpa GINSENG BONSAI. Let me guess, you bought it at Costco ? This plant is usually grown indoors in a south facing window or west facing window, indirect light is best. Water it when it gets almost dry but don’t let it get dry. Using a water meter can help you control the humidity. Fertilizing during the growing season with a liquid fertilizer 2-3 times Good luck !!
