Hello again! About 3 weeks ago, I posted my new dwarf umbrella bonsai and received some care tips. In the meantime, I noticed it was dying and couldn't figure out why, and when I moved it today I accidentally dropped it and realised that the plant was literally just sitting in a hole in the top of the rock. 😅 The roots were bone dry - whatever roots there are haha. So I've kept it out, and popped it in some water to rehydrate and hopefully save. Once it recovers, I'd love to pop it into the appropriate soil medium and treat it as a new propagation. Would you all agree that this method would be the best bet? Is there anything I could do differently from the usual propagation methods to eventually acclimate it to becoming bonsai again?
