So, my grow light conked this morning after not even a year🙄😔. It looked exactly like this one(my mom got it for me so I don't know for sure if that's what brand it was). I would say I was quite happy with this one, my plants in my east facing window maybe grew a bit faster but it wasn't very much. I just wish it hadn't given out as soon. Or is this just what to expect with grow lights? It was pry on 12-14 hours a day. Anyways, should I just get another one of these or try something else? They have to be pretty inexpensive, soltech are not an option even if they are worth it. They have to be able to cover a four by four space in the corner of my bedroom. Its on the floor so hanging lights, clip-on lights and strip lights won't work. What would yall recommend?

Happy holidays, everyone. I’m new to grow lights and would love to hear any recommendations for a newbie to them, preferably more affordable ones. I’d like to get one that perhaps comes in a lamp form, is detachable in some way, or can temporarily be held up, as I only have one space to place all my plants together under it and cannot drill where I currently live. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, and any tips on how to use them is very greatly appreciated 😊

A friendly reminder to use screens over the pot holes. You will avoid clogs. Nothing can fix me not noticing that these weren't draining properly. The plant in the red pothead no roots, but bloomed a few months ago. Yeargh.

What is the best way to fake fill a planter? I bought a bought for my mconnoly, but it's like 2x larger than what it's in. I've false filled with like paper and such, but it was a lot of upkeep. I was thinking some leca, but that'd be a lot!

I’ve had my Dracaena in the same pot since I bought it and it looks like it’s ready for a bigger home. This would be my first time repotting a plant so I want to make sure I do it right! The pot I have is slightly bigger with drainage holes but do I keep the soil and add more into the bigger pot? Is any soil brand fine? Any tips will help!

The high number is my tap water. Low is when I added a couple drops of apple cider vinegar. The middle is a bunch of water from a Britta plus a little vinegar. I should have checked this a year ago. Note: I grow mostly acid-loving succulents with almost zero chance at collecting rain water, which as it turns out really is "acid rain."

Would pea gravel pebbles used for bonsai be appropriate for use in pebble trays for all plants? (asks Captain Obvious?)

Can anyone link me to the moss poles they buy? I have several plants I have been using coco coir poles to stabilize but I’m looking into getting actually moss poles to help my plants grow more since they can’t attach to the coco coir ones. Or just any tips! Do you use plastic or metal for your poles? Only spaghnum moss or a mix? How do you keep it wet? What is the best shape? I’ve never done them before, so I’m trying to figure out what is best!

The hygrometer on our thermostat says the humidity in our home is between 30-35% would that be ok for my plants? If not is the placement of these humidifiers ok? (they’re circled in white) I placed them there to show where I would place. Suggestions are appreciated.

Hi y’all, it’s getting to be ‘grow light’ season & as a first year plant parent the research has been tedious lol. I have a 30” book shelf to move all the plant babies to.. I found 16” grow light strips, would 1 strip on each shelf be sufficient or should I put 2? I’m also looking for lights for the plants that don’t have a shelf above them like my money tree. *I also plan on putting a mirror the size of the shelves behind to help reflect some of the light* Any tips or advice appreciated.

For what plants do you recommend self-watering pots? Pictured are some of mine that are enjoying theirs. I have another Homalomena that I want to transfer, so he stops being so dramatic. 😄 Where do you get your SWP’s? What types do you recommend? I’m liking the terracotta ones. I set up the plastic one pictured this past weekend, so we’ll see how he likes it.
