Most of my grow lights are these little Sansi clip lights. Iā€™m going on vacation for a week and I wonā€™t have anyone to turn my lights on and off so Iā€™m looking to get a timer. The problem is, these donā€™t automatically turn on when I turn my power strip on, you have to push the buttonsā€¦so does anyone have experience with this or will my plants be okay without extra light for a week? This is the only window into this room so thereā€™s really not a lot of light that gets in here.

    I have a timer like this from Loweā€™s that I use for my slow cooker (itā€™s not a digital one) and it comes on and goes off on time. It has an option to set a 7 day schedule but I havenā€™t tried it for more than one day at a time but it may work for you! You just plug your item directly into it.

    If they don't automatically turn on, when your power strip turns on. Then a timer is pointless unfortunately. The lights that have built in timers, that don't work with my Govee timers. i just left on (medium strength) while I was on vacation for 5 days

    The SANSI clip lights have timers.. is there a way you can just leave the power strip on? They turn off and on at the same time everyday so you dont have to do any extra work.

      Ha! You mean this fancy guy right here! So if I set it to 12 hours it turns on and off automatically?! I thought it just turned them off after that time, I had no idea they would turn on againā€¦Iā€™ll test it tomorrow but that might fix all my worries right there so thank you!šŸ¤ž

      Yes at the same time everyday. I turned mine on for the first time at 6 AM or so and set for the 12 hr timer. They turn on at 6 AM and off at 6 PM everyday

      Sure enough, they came on this morning as expected! What a world we live in! Thanks for calling that out! Youā€™re saving me a lot of stress and Iā€™ll get a timer for the other ones that donā€™t have timers. Thanks a million, everyone!

      I am chuckling bc I also thought mine only turned off at the right time, never noticed it turning back on lol

    I think your plants will be fine for a week without their usual light. I like to think of it as a week over really overcast weather :)

    *googles Sansi clip lightsā€¦ Iā€™ve just been using a plain Jane tried and true light but ooof these would be so much better!

    You can get smart plugs and connect them to your phone. Then you can set schedules for them or turn them on/off whenever you need!
