Most of my grow lights are these little Sansi clip lights. I’m going on vacation for a week and I won’t have anyone to turn my lights on and off so I’m looking to get a timer. The problem is, these don’t automatically turn on when I turn my power strip on, you have to push the buttons…so does anyone have experience with this or will my plants be okay without extra light for a week? This is the only window into this room so there’s really not a lot of light that gets in here.
I have a timer like this from Lowe’s that I use for my slow cooker (it’s not a digital one) and it comes on and goes off on time. It has an option to set a 7 day schedule but I haven’t tried it for more than one day at a time but it may work for you! You just plug your item directly into it.
If they don't automatically turn on, when your power strip turns on. Then a timer is pointless unfortunately. The lights that have built in timers, that don't work with my Govee timers. i just left on (medium strength) while I was on vacation for 5 days

The SANSI clip lights have timers.. is there a way you can just leave the power strip on? They turn off and on at the same time everyday so you dont have to do any extra work.
1 like Ha! You mean this fancy guy right here! So if I set it to 12 hours it turns on and off automatically?! I thought it just turned them off after that time, I had no idea they would turn on again…I’ll test it tomorrow but that might fix all my worries right there so thank you!🤞
Yes at the same time everyday. I turned mine on for the first time at 6 AM or so and set for the 12 hr timer. They turn on at 6 AM and off at 6 PM everyday

I think your plants will be fine for a week without their usual light. I like to think of it as a week over really overcast weather :)

1 likeYou can get smart plugs and connect them to your phone. Then you can set schedules for them or turn them on/off whenever you need!
