So question about fertilizer longevity. I’m a make ahead type of person, so if I were to make a large batch of fertilizer water do you think it would be okay to keep it sealed for a week or two? Or should I just make smaller batches when needed? Wondering if anyone has ever done this before
I’ve made a gallon of diluted fertilizer water and carried it into work each week. I did that for about 8 years. Then, took all my plants home when I had to move to a new building that only had cubicles. There was too much chlorine and hard water deposits in the water at work. I got the idea from a coworker in the same office. His golden pothos blocked the ceiling lights in our four person office. The plant was that long. His gallon bottle was prepared every eeek by his wife. It had a layer of algae on the inner walls. Seasoned!😁He got promoted as our supervisor and couldn’t move the plant. He watered it like that for many years and moved the plant when he retired.
좋아요 1개 Oh wow! Thats amazing how large that pothos got. That is a bummer you had to move all your plants, hopefully you found some smaller ones. Haha oh yeah that’s a seasoned container lol 😂 wow, well that gives me hope to make it in advance then
좋아요 1개 I traveled too often to different parts of the world for up to 3 weeks when on both business and pleasure trips after I got promoted. I couldn’t care for plants in the office anymore.

This is a great question! I’ve often wondered it myself cause I’ve noticed the color changes over time. So far all my plants have remained pretty happy when using fertilizer water that was mixed 2-3 weeks prior. 🤷♀️🤞
좋아요 1개 I’m glad they all are still doing good! It’s just feels like a waste to dump out fertilizer water if you didn’t use all of it lol
