Hi all! I’m new to this group and to plants in general. I need to repot some of my plants that I just bought and am looking for places to get good but budget friendly pots. Preferably not Amazon. Where do you all buy your pots from? And how do I know what size to get. TIA.
Thrift stores are usually great for this purpose, super cheap!

I’ve found some small ones at Hobby Lobby and on the clearance racks at Lowe’s and Home Depot. Big Lots have good prices. But, they can’t properly pack heavy fragile pots for shipping. The outer cardboard boxes were too thin. Most of the pots were smashed inside the two layers of bubble wrap on each pot when they arrived.
Dollar Stores are good place as well.!

I think Walmart has good ones, maybe Marshall’s but I would double check their quality. I get most of my favorite ones from Home Depot/Lowe’s though. I just wish they came out with more varieties with drainage holes

Depending on your town I look for pottery stores and gardening centers as they both usually know what they're doing

I got a pot (with drainage hole) recently from Ross. There were several in various sizes. This is the one I purchased. I only got one, because that's not what I went to Ross to get. 🤣 It was $5.99. My plant is new and is still in the nursery pot, so I'll take it out of the decorative pot when it's time to water.
Haven’t tried myself, but supposedly you can get free nursery pots from home Depot or Lowe’s?
