I would love to hear DIY soil recipes please! Also, what is PON?! What plants do better in LECA vs. perlite vs. sphagnum moss vs. chunky soil vs….you get the idea!? Obviously I am new to this (and clearly just jumped right in) and just trying to do the best for my plant babes! TY
I’m new too! I made my own mix because all my plants prefer the quick drain stuff. I got miracle gro potting mix & better gro special orchid potting mix because it has bark, coal, and perlite. Both of those were 4 qt bags so I also added another qt bag of each- perlite, coco coir chips, and horticultural coal. It’s a great mix!

For all my non-succulents: - 50% potting soil - 50% equal parts: perlite/orchid bark/small lava rock Succulents: - 50% potting soil - 50% perlite (or more depending on the succulent) It seems to be the best mixes for me to keep everyone happy without having to have a bunch of different mixes.
