Can anyone link me to the moss poles they buy? I have several plants I have been using coco coir poles to stabilize but I’m looking into getting actually moss poles to help my plants grow more since they can’t attach to the coco coir ones. Or just any tips! Do you use plastic or metal for your poles? Only spaghnum moss or a mix? How do you keep it wet? What is the best shape? I’ve never done them before, so I’m trying to figure out what is best!
Hi! I don’t have any moss poles at the moment but a YouTube channel called Sydney Plant Guy is a great resource! He explains everything in in depth tutorials and how to build it, he just uses grated garden wire from your local garden/tool center and then zip ties it together and fills it with spagnum moss. He also has a tutorial on how he waters and maintains the moss poles. 💚🪴

I currently use plastic moss poles from Amazon and really like them. They just snap together and are stackable. I just add an expandable plant stake before filling it with moss for extra support. You can find them at home depot, Lowe's or any garden center should have them. As for watering I use a water bottle and recently I decided to try a rain gage which works great. I just used my saudering iron to burn 2 or 3 small holes in the bottom. May not be esthetically pleasing but works like a charm. I also tried selfwatering mosspoles, but the reservoir was just to small and wouldn't even moisten 1/4 of the pole. I had to constantly fill it in order to get the entire pole moist. I've also made my own mosspoles out of plastic wire and hardwire, mainly for plants that cover the entire pole, front and back like my philodendron mican, epipremnum pinnatum.
I just ordered some of the stackable plastic ones from amazon! I also got some of those automatic plant watering bulbs that I’m going to try and place in my moss poles and see if it helps keep them wet enough! I just don’t want them to become too high maintenance because I want it to stay fun and not feel like it’s a chore.
