Hello, me again 😅 I’m leaning on this group and doing a lot of research to help my plants thrive as much as possible. I’ve just taken all the plants off my stand to show my current setup with my grow lights. Does anybody know if this is a helpful setup? Or does it really depend on the plants? My monstera has been beside it on the floor, below the black remote holder, and it’s very happy - it’s part sun/part shade and probably gets about 4-6 hrs of indirect light not counting the grow lights. Do wondering… is my hanging grow light too high? Does it look like a decent setup? How do I learn about appropriate distance for grow lights? Thank you all!!! 🫶🏻🌱

    You might feel silly but the only way to really know is to get a light meter on Amazon, they’re like $20. Every light is different, every plant is different, even the maturity of the plant affects light tolerance.. the distance has an exponential loss so going too far makes it almost useless. Your plants will tell you btw haha. Just don’t go too close because burning is worse than low light

      Thank you! Is there a chart I can look up with the results of a light meter to know or it’s more trial and error? Thanks for your input and advice!

      There actually is and it’s life changing. Look up bright, indirect light requirements from house plant journal and there’s an entire chart. 🤗

      Hi Evil Plant Dad, please may I pick your brain a little more??? Are light meter Apps such as those in the pic any good for the job? I didn’t even know I’d got the top one on my phone btw. I’m just thinkin if I can save on buying a meter, it’s pennies saved for more lil green babies 😍 🪴

      If it was free, I would try it. But it’s likely not accurate enough to get the reading you want, up to you though. It’s just going to be a $23 light meter if the app doesn’t work lol
