    Never done this, never heard of it, but it would likely negatively affect the PH of your soil (I think it’s acidic). By far, the easiest and most successful solution is to buy nematodes you add to water and pour into your soil. They will disrupt the entire life cycle of the gnats. When there’s no gnats left they’ll just die off too

    I use apple cider vinegar and dawn dish soap mixed together in a jar as a trap, it doesn’t catch all of the flies but it works pretty well :)

    Diluted hydrogen peroxide mixed in the water when it’s time to water your plants is a cheap and easy solution. I think vinegar might be more disruptive to the plant than the gnats

    I always have a tiny mason jar(s) with apple cider vinegar around my plants. Any slight outbreak of flies (I had them at my last place due to a kitchen sink drip creating the perfect conditions), I check the trap and make sure it’s still filled. If empty, I had flies. So…yes :)
