AdaOnce you open a bag of soil it should be good for at least several years, as long as you keep it sealed up with a clip or something of the sort. As for a good brand of soil, I prefer Good Dirt! It’s sustainable sourced and they have a ton of other stuff too, such as their Plantbiotics, which is this dust full of beneficial microbes that you put in your plants soil every month or so, and it helps reduce transplant shock and aids in nutrient absorption! They also have their own fertilizer (I don’t use it though) that you’re supposed to pair with the Plantbiotics. Man, they should hire me as their marketer! Ps, the fertilizer I use is called Liqui-dirt, I think it’s definitely worth checking out if you find fertilizer to be kinda complicated. Or even if you don’t!

MadsMy mom was a plant master, and she used Fox Farm’s Happy Frog (available at Target and I’m sure lots of other places).
