I want to know will the combination of indoor potting soil,perlite and orchid bark make a nice soil for most house plants? I am trying to pot my spider plant, monstera and cactus plant. Please help!

    You could do equal parts of each! You could add a little extra orchid bark/perlite for the monsters and cactus.

    Look into horticultural pumice, as well. People often skip the pearlite and opt for pumice. People being me and the authors of what I read ha.

    For the spider plant, I would use a typical potting soil mix amended with perlite at a 4:1 ratio. Monstera is a 1:1:1 potting soil, perlite, orchid bark. Most cacti and succulents 1:1 cactus potting soil and perlite. Nonnon Dave’s suggestion to use horticultural pumice is gold.
