Im new to soil mixes and knowing each type I need or differentiating the kinds. How should i amend a generic bag of miracle Grow potting mix to make it more draining? It is holding water too long. I have Perlite.

    I would add the potting mix coco coir ,perlite , orchid bark , and charcoal (for plant potting ) , this would help it become well draining!

      Helps make it chunky and for drainage but it’s optional

    I also really like adding hard akedama to chunky soil mixes.
