Hello all I have a few orchids that are not doing great. The picture on the left shows the best plant, on its prime moment. After months like that, the flowers died before opening up. The other plants are slowly dying, losing leaves and not shooting any new roots or leaves. The plant on the right is like this for years now. I use an orchid fertilizer, and change the substrate every year-ish. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

좋아요 1개 Here are all the roots, from all the orchids. I noticed the roots are going up, instead of down, but they do receive sunlight (some direct and some indirect- in testing both locations). The picture with the dry flower on top is the same plant from my previous post and the one with only 1 leaf is the updated picture of the second plant.
Only one picture actually posted. The orchid with one leaf looks pretty healthy in the roots, but shows some slight wrinkling. Give it water slightly more often. It's normal for orchid roots to grow up because they're epiphytes (they cling to trees in the wild.) They don't technically need soil and like to get air flow. If the leaves turn squishy and yellow when they drop, check for root rot. If the leaves dry up to a crunchy brown before falling, that's just the plant letting go of old leaves in favor of new ones
