Second question of the day: Fertilizing during winter/dormant months. My daughter never uses fertilizer during the winter, allowing the plant to hibernate. I fertilized last year but only every other time it popped up on my task list. What do you guys do?
I’ll fertilize anything that is actively growing. Except for cactus and succulents. I typically fertilize once a year at the start of their growing season.

agreed. if any of my tropicals decide they want to keep growing throughout the winter i’ll give them an extra dose of fertilizer at a lower strength

I continue to fertilize my indoor plants (under grow-lights), but not my outdoor plants.

I fertilize everything with osmocote year round and stop fertilizing most cacti and succculents because I don’t give them grow lights (just a west window). Everything else I fertilize with liquid fertilizer too, but at 1/4 strength and a little less often.
