This is my first time using LECA and I wanted to share my experience so far with my Anthuriums transitioning from soil to LECA. I’m following the LECA Addict process almost exactly (see my nutrient water formula below). I received the Queen and Luxurian 8/12 and put them in LECA immediately. I cut 2 older small leaves off from the Queen along with the majority of its roots besides 3 short thick ones. I cut off the smallest Luxurian leaf and left maybe a fist size amount of roots. I thoroughly cleaned the soil off the root systems and used 3% hydrogen peroxide. 3 weeks later, the Queen had an ear lobe yellow and has a few new roots coming in. The Luxurians root system is thriving and has a ton of new roots. No new leaves from both Today I transitioned my Silver Blush and Magnificum as well. The Magnificum was 2 plants, so I separated them. The uglier one is just in water and I’m using as an experiment. Some of you know the Magnificums history ⚡️so let’s see how she does :) Hydroton LECA - rinsed 3 times and soaked 3 times for over 3 days Distilled Water - 1 Gallon General Hydroponics CalMag - CalMagic - 5ml Growth Technology Foliage Focus 15-20ml RapidStart - 1-2ml Plant Revolution Orca Premium Liquid Mycorrhizae - 2ml Mr. Fulvic - 1ml pH up / pH down (if needed). I aim for 6-6.5

      Are you using the no drainage method?

      Not completely seamless. I would say the Queen has very slowly been declining throughout the 3 weeks but I have hope bc of the new roots. Yes I’m using the no drainage method for all of them. I replace the water every week with the nutrient mix

    Yeah, a lot of my babies have yellowed/lost some of their leaves in the transition to Pon, and as much as I’m bummed about it, I try to not be too concerned, as I know that is part of the transition process with many. Just hope it turns around and I don’t loose more leaves or worse, all of the plant/s. Thinking positive, keeping head up and also enjoying seeing new growth in many Pon babies is helping! Thinking of adding CalMag soon too! I already add many things, so want to get a baseline for each product as I add it, otherwise I won’t know what to attribute success/failure to! 😜 I add mycorrhizal fungi powder as well… I’m wondering if using it mixed in water is not as effective, i heard sprinkling directly on roots when repotting or transitioning is a better way to go. Has to do with the way the roots interact with fungi vs water. Hard to explain, but made sense when i heard it explained. Anthurium Queen is quite finicky I hear! Wishing you luck!

      I read the CalMag might be overkill since there’s some in the Foliage Focus product I use but I read that after I bought it so 🤷‍♂️ The mycorrhizae Orca product I use, I’d say it’s putting work in. All these plants have been in soil their entire lives and they’re transitioning to semi hydro with very little root rot so I’m pretty sure that’s bc of the Orca product For sure it’s expected for plants to decline after making such a big transition. The Queen was just shipped from Ecuador, had 90% of its roots cut off, cut off 2 older leaves, given the people’s elbow, and repotted twice. I’d consider losing 1 ear lobe in 3 weeks a win. Plus it’s smallish so it’ll have new leaves eventually to replace whatever damage happens during this transition. As for them being finicky, I’ve noticed a lot of the people I hear that from are always doing something blatantly wrong like putting them in a cabinet with high humidity and no air flow, etc. Like any plant, it just needs the right environment but there seems to be a lot of misinfo on this one.

      I looked up the great white liquid you are using. I’m using the great white powder. Hmm i wonder if there is a difference other than ease of use?
