Fertilizer hack: I have a jug of fertilizer under the kitchen sink to pull out when I have plants to fertilize. If you also keep a container pre-filled, I have a great time-saver to share. When you're mixing up your liquid fertilizer, make it double-strength. Then fill your watering device half full of the mix, and then fill the container to the top to dilute to the proper concentration. Then you're not mixing up a new jug every few days. 👌
I used to have a fertilizer that said not to mix in advance. Needless to say, I don’t use that one anymore lol. But I wonder why it said that 🤔 Definitely easier to have a liquid mix on hand when you have a big collection!

After a period of time, the nutrients can degrade or have chemical reactions that alter potency and create a nutrient lockout

also if it’s organic fertilizer the nutrients will start to break down and it’ll create pressure in a sealed container, and stink quite a bit

1 Like i use organics so i never ever pre-mix fertilizer, once the powder is added to the water all the fungi in there get revived and i’d rather they’re working in my plants than in the water
2 Likes I have so many plants I can easily go through a gallon when I have to fertilize. I also use the fertilizer on my garden. My fertilizer is a kelp-based one and it steeps for 3 days before I strain and use. It's awesome!
