I love that you are trying to help with this! Although, have to say I feel like both the āGreen Thumb Societyā & this new name āExpert Level Greenspaceā just further invites people to post there problems here, looking for expert advice, rather than it being a place to post about geeky science stuff. I still think the original names we all came up with better suit this needā¦ āGeek cornerā or āGeek squadā or āNerdsā or āScience of Plantsā or anything like that rather than calling attention to us being advanced or experts, which we may or may not even be. More about a place to discuss the science of plants, whether we are experts or not. Am i only one thinking this?

Hopping on this and giving my $0.02 because I was just scrolling through and seeing thatās exactly whatās happening. I loved the way this space started with discussion and thoughtsā¦ but now there are several posts of the āwhat is this/what is wrong with thisā nature- which isnāt the intended purpose of this space. Iām not trying to be an @$$- Iām a relatively new plant person so I get itā¦ you absolutely have questions when you first start out and sometimes a Google search doesnāt help and advice or direction is neededā¦ this is just not the intended space for those types of questions I feel. Maybe a āNew Plant Parentā group would help? One to specifically ask identification and health questions? Or separate it into two- a new space for health questions and one for āwhat is this?ā. I feel like that would be helpful for those asking the questions because they know exactly where to go to ask and donāt have to post across several groups. I know *this* isnāt the group for suggestions - lol - but felt it was relative to the actual purpose of this space. āŗļø

I feel the main issue here is that when a person goes to post something, 99% of people do it from the main home community page (rather from within certain groups), then use the +quick select to choose what group to post in. When they do this, all they know is the main head title names (they canāt see descriptors and they probably donāt ever go to home page of individual groups when they are new). So if iām new, and I wanted to ask for help with a problem on my plant, and i think, hmmm which group can help me with thisā¦ oh.. the experts! Yes Iāll ask them! (becomes like Dr Planta lol) Makes perfect sense why they would choose that group. The other thing is that (Iāll bet on this) 99.99% of people using this app and participating in the community (myself included) are not experts! Otherwise, why would we need help with any aspect of growing/tending plants? The experts are probably to busy running their plant businesses to be helping out here! š And yeah, the intended request of this group was more about a place to have geeky convos, not to exclude anyone who isnāt an expert or to have a place to ask for help from more experienced. In fact, it was to try and get away from that, since that is like 90% of all posts. Hoping for 3rd name rebrand the charm?! šš»š
