I mentioned this in a comment, and then realized maybe I am the only one who stumbled onto this while in a plant ID frenzy a few years ago. Llifle (dot com) is an encyclopedic site of “living forms,” which means plants. While uber-educational, the pictures are what will fuel your lust and further your quest. You will identify your exact species of Lithops, and then wonder how to find one of the other 30 species. And, maybe most importantly for me, each species generally has a deep dive into soil conditions and oddball stuff such as “Copiapoa spend the mornings in fog.” That sort of thing blows up the “thrives in sun and part shade” mystery.

This is just what I’ve been looking for! Thanks! Now that I’ve bought some Lithops on Etsy I’m constantly seeing different varieties advertised.

I am not certain when or how I found this site, but it’s amazing content shoved into a site that looks a bit like my college HTML class final exam. Some entries are so thorough and others will have editorials of “No plant survive here.”

The pic is to show the only other species of Lithops I have found at Home Depot. But the middle one - species I always see - snuck in to make it a quintet.

Cool. I’ve been seeing ones of all kinds of colors on Etsy. I always read the reviews and look at pics from buyers. I’ve also seen seed mixes.

I was already looking up some of my more mysterious cacti. I had said that I’d have it set up well before diving into more desert-thriving cacti… bit I started off my collection with an assortment pack and have already done it, unbeknownst. I have some grow light and plan to add more to be able to experiment and see which ones will keep them alive this winter.

I just found this. Proof that they looked like crap for a while. I didn’t think the middle one would make it.

If I hadn’t seen how they split from seeing them on Planta posts, I would have been mortified!

Right? I’m trying to spread the gospel. I’ve shared this so many times on here, but this was maybe December (2022). I was literally a “this is fine” meme.
