Hi, all!! I’m having a lot of trouble with my plants getting root rot/soil not drying out fast enough, and I’ve since bought a moisture meter which I think has helped me, but I also would like to make sure I have a good soil mix. I’ve increasingly learned more as I’ve been collecting houseplants for about a year now, and I’ve been adding more and more things to my soil/ using anything other than just the “potting soil” or “indoor houseplant soil”, but I buy plants from people who have clearly been doing this for a long time with very much success and their soil is never similar to mine. I like to make in bulk and keep it in a latching plastic tote. Right now, I do the bag of sphagnum moss, add some coconut coir, I started using orchid bark but ordered bricks of coco chips to do instead because they allow for a bit more adjustment room when potting smaller plants/pots, I do earthworm castings, and vermiculite. It’s still more soil vs chunk ratio, which I can adjust that, but I see some things in peoples soil that I don’t know much about. Like pumice, I’d be interested in learning about and using that. I’d just like to hear what you all mix and what works best for you, and where you get said resources (because everything I have is stuff I can get near me in person, besides the coco chips I had to order off amazon which I started doing just within the last week, but I’m totally open to ordering anything depending on the pricing if it’s decent and/or shipping). And just any other tips you may have about overwatering / soil drying out. TIA!

Hi friends! I recently tried to repot my Thai constellation and went wrong somewhere in the process to a point where I lost the roots 🙃🥲 is there any coming back from this or where to go from here? The leaves have started turning yellow as a result too. Thank you for your help and appreciate any advice :)
i propagated some monsteras, had them in water and just potted them and noticed 2/4 leaves are facing the ground. Is this something that will figure itself out or i can fix? or should i just chop?
Added a monstera mint to my collection 🤩🌱
Hello all!! I just recently (within the past couple days) got a monstera plant because I've wanted one for a long time. It's still in the pot the store had it in, but I was wondering if I should repot it or leave it alone? I want to give my plant the absolute best living conditions, but I also don't want to do a bunch of unnecessary things to it. Do I repot it in a special soil/mixture, or just basic soil? I have lots of questions and am very curious, so any and all information is greatly appreciated!!💚💚
This my rescue monstera I took from my coworkers (they just about killed it). She’s great! I got 2 new leaves and while I don’t think that’s super great at least she’s growing. As you can see I moss poled. I don’t feel like that the best spot. I’ve head they’re supposed to go at the back of the plant but as you see there’s not an accessible back and the pole doesn’t sit down in the soil. Should I replant and reposition or just move the pole?
Good morning, I replanted my monstera and this is what’s happening . This leaf 🍃 is looking like this I’m not sure if I’am watering enough. I don’t know how to measure the water to give . Can someone help. I love my plants and like to see them grow. Thank you

I bought a 6 in monstera Thai constellation and I was repotting her right away because the soil she had felt super hard and…. I’m shocked
about 2 months of progress 🥹🥲
Repotted my Monstera and got some poles for her to climb- shes been pretty happy! Some of the leaves are broken but have continued to push out new leaves
Just got this monstera. Not 100% sure if this is a good spot? No direct light here.
Just got my first monstra plant. It is a gift from friends. I’ve been wanting one but starting small. She found one and got it for me!! I’m so excited. Going to see some YouTube videos on how to take care of it but suggestions are appreciated!!
Do you put the aerial roots back in the soil or leave them? One is about to hit the floor and the rest are not far behind (more than what’s pictured) and I’m not sure what to do with them
Okayyy another question about my new Monstera plant. When I bought it, the people at the nursery had said that I picked a very full one. There are tons and tons of roots that I could split this into multiple plants. Should I do this while it is still fairly young or wait?
Any way i can make this new leaf turn around?
Quarantining my first Monstera Dubia! He’ll be going into my gecko vivarium🦎 This will be my first time thoroughly cleaning and quarantining a plant so I’m a bit nervous and looking for guidance 🙏🏻 The instruction i’m going off of involves removing the soil & soaking the whole plant in water, then soaking in a diluted bleach or peroxide bath. I’m a bit nervous about the soaking bit, especially with the dubia’s velvety leaves, but im also terrified of infesting my viv with hitchhikers lol 🥲
I feel like my monster plant is drooping. How can I help it?
I just started propagating this monstera cutting on Saturday. after reading a bunch I went with rooting hormone and soil propagation(after 24hr to callus). But now I’m second guessing myself. Should I have gone water propagation? I used a mix of soil and peat moss but it feel too damp. This is my first M. Delicious so I’m nervous it won’t take. Is it too late to rinse it off and water propagate? Or do I need to just chill and trust the process?
Just picked this mini up a week ago from this lovely lady that lives near me, and my new leaf just unfurled today!! I also have another one coming in! I started taking care of plants relatively recently- so these are the first new leaves I’ve watched from the beginning and I’m very excited 🌿
