Hi! âđŸHow would you bring this beauty back to health? I suspect itâs overwatered and maybe needs to be repotted. How big should the pot be? What kind of plant food would you use? What should I know?
Then vs Now 3 Years âą Occasional fertilizing âą Plenty of sun/Grow Light! I am about to repot her with another monstera and add a moss pole cause sheâs tipping over. I had to put 2 container full of rocks to weight her down. đ
My newest rescue from the plant shelter đ . There was standing water in the pot, but not for too long judging by the overall condition. Hopefully I dried her out in time! The most satisfying part is always the âwelcome homeâ bath!
This is a rescue monstera a friend tasked me with saving. I did some pruning a few weeks ago and itâs had a TON of new growth since. Including this. Has anyone seen something like this before?
Third new leaf this winter.

đ Hey monstera lovers! I got this Thai constellation a couple days ago and Iâm so excited about it! Iâm also a little nervous since it was definitely more expensive than my other monstera (free from a friend moving). My question is - should I repot it? It has a new leaf unfurling so I donât want to stress it out. But it also has roots coming out of the bottom of the pot. There also appears to be a root that didnât get potted well at the nursery? Idk what to do. I just donât want to kill it accidentally đł
What should I do about my sprawling monstera, Denise? She has a couple of leaves that have decided to grow straight out, blocking one of the walkways through my very small living room. I've researched moss poles, but from what l've seen, that doesn't seem like the solution for these leaves that are sticking straight out. Should I try to cut and propagate them? As you can hopefully tell from the photos, there are 5 big leaves coming out of that one stem, and they're going in 4 different directions. I see an aerial root coming out of the very base of that stem (and apologies if I'm using the wrong terminology, I'm still learning!), so if I cut it there would I be able to successfully propagate it? Should I just cut off the 2 leaves that are sticking out the most, even though they donât have any aerial roots to propagate? Denise has grown SO MUCH in the year l've had her and I'm worried about the havoc she'll unleash on my living room this spring and summer if I don't get her under control before then! Also if anyone could let me know what that brown tissue on some of her stems is, l've been wondering about that as well. Thank you! âA first-time monstera parent who's just trying her best
sheâs putting out a new leaf iâm so happy đ€©đ€©
Hello! New plant mom here! So I recently potted my monstera propagation and it seems to be very droopy and wilting. Iâm not sure what kind of monstera it is as it was given to me by a friend who wasnât sure, and we used all purpose potting soil because itâs all we had đ Iâve read a bit about plants going into shock from repotting and I know all purpose soil isnât the ideal choice for monsteras, but I also read that repotting plants too much isnât good for them. I assumed it needed to be watered and might have haphazardly watered it without checking how dry the soil was deeper in the pot (it was dry on top đ). I have all my plants in a west facing window with indirect light, but the window has a bit of a draft and my friend suggested they might be too cold right up against the window like that. We also planted it a bit sideways because the roots grew silly when I was propagating it. ANYWAYS, sorry for the info dump â just trying to learn as much as I can and keep as many of my plants alive as I tend to get attached đ Hereâs a photo of the monstera and of the silly lil baby roots just for funsies (sidenote the leaf on the left is broken so itâs always been a bit droopy!)
a few leaves on my monstera are tinted yellow iâm assuming from overwatering, but i used a skewer and the soil is very dry almost to the bottom of the pot. should i water now? wait a bit? i donât know what he wants đ
This is my Monstera that I bought at Trader Joeâs a few months ago. When I bought her, she immediately started shooting out new leaves. But it has been quite a while since she had any new growth. I have never taken care of this kind of plant before so Iâm not sure what Iâm doing wrong. Any thoughts?
Hello, new monstera plant mom here! Where I have her placed in my living room is on the opposite corner from a south facing window, itâs two large windows so the living room gets a decent amount of light. I also have a grow light I recently purchased. I think I may be overwatering and thatâs whatâs wrong with the leaves? I have not repotted since I bought her in November. Also, how long should I leave her under the grow light? Thanks!!
Hello, I got this monstera from Trader Joeâs about 5 weeks ago. Decided to look at the roots today. Should I be concerned? I am on the east coast so weather is pretty chilly at the moment. Should I wait till summer to repot it? Is this considered root bound? Any advice?
Hii everyone! I need help - my monstera is very sick and Iâm not sure how to make it better. Any advice?
We got a GORGEOUS adansonii at a plant sale 2 falls ago. Placed it in our dining room (north east room, several windows) and it THRIVED for the first year plusâridiculous growth, super full and happy. Over the past several months (probably starting late summer) roots started to rot. Nothing had changed: was watering and fertilizing according to plantaâs schedule, location was the same, no repotting (she seemed to have plenty of room). We did get a room AC last summer, but it basically just kept us from dying (no one in Seattle has AC and our summers are just getting hotter; house is rarely below 80 on a summer day even with AC). Tried moving it to a spot with more light, but it was no help. I did manage to save a couple tiny shoots and get them to grow rootsâI just put them in dirt but have to admit I am not super hopeful. Anyone have ideas about what might have killed Frances? We miss her and would rather not repeat this tragedy⊠âčïž
New leavesđâš
Pushing out so many leaves this winter! A new leaf every couple weeks, this is nuts!
After several new leaves without fenestrations, I finally got one! Theyâre still super tiny but hopefully this is a step in the right direction!
