Alright yall, Iâm new to this whole monstera plant mom thing and I donât know whether my monstera is doing good or not. Also can someone tell me if sphagnum moss is bad for this to be in? I bought this plant and havenât re potted it cause Iâm nervous.
I just repotted my first and dream Monstera esqueleto! I've had her for only 1 month. I did some traveling, so once she got to her forever home, I waited a week and finally got her out of her nursery to a 2-inch bigger pot. When should I expect her to start making new leaves? I'm anxiously awaiting and have her on a grow light :) ALSO do I fertilizer her now or only when she starts to grow new leaves?

Need some advice on the two Monsteras pictured, Monstera deliciosa Albo and Monstera lechleriana Albo. The deliciosa seems to be doing well although the new leaves are curling more than before. The lechleriana is thriving but itâs essentially one huge vine and Iâd like to have it become more bush-likeâŠany suggestions on either (or both)?
I purchased my first ever indoor plant. I had no idea what I was doing. I selected a monstera deliciosa. Iâve never owned one in my life. Since itâs been home Iâve provided it with its first watering, and close attention and observation and pretty much have left it alone otherwise. Itâs been 9 days now. She has had three new leaves unfurl and all have carried fenestrations. Here is how she looks.
So a few weeks back I noticed that my monstera plants were yellowing and dropping leaves. They had been potted in straight potting mix which seems a bit heavy and moisture retentive but I figured it was fine until the leaves started dropping. I repotted three pots worth of them in optimized soil. When I did I added a couple of water propagations to the pots as well. The props took to the new soil really well. Unfortunately the existing plants were not so happy and resumed dropping leaves. In an act of desperation I decided to chop and prop all the older plants in an effort to give them new roots that were less stressed. But because those plants were planted with new props as well I didnât want to remove the roots and risk stressing them. I figured with no leaves, the roots would dry up and die and I can just pull them out on the next repot. The craziest thing happened. All the cuttings rooted just fine and are now ready to be repotted in soil. But Iâm going to have to find a new place to put them. Because all of the roots I was thinking would die back instead pushed brand new growth! So now I have three pots with monsteras in them and a wall full of props needing new homes. đ€Ł
Got this beautiful monstera cutting that was successfully propagated to get lots of roots! I have potted it in a chunky monstera mix and as itâs large Iâm expecting it to take some time to see some growth, however the backside of each one is brown and dry, is this normal? Will it eventually still get growth from them?
Update on my sad monstera: I took it out of its pot and found that the soil was too wet (possibly because it rained last night) but Iâm not sure. I washed off the roots and found that most were rotten, so I chopped off all of the rotten parts back to healthy roots. Dipped the root ends in some cinnamon and now Iâm letting it dry for a few hours. Iâm thinking that I might regrow the roots in water, but Iâm not sure. Any advice on how to get it healthy again?
Please tell me this is mislabeled and this is NOT a philodendron.

Amazing find at the nursery today! A baby mint monsterađżđ±đ€ Itâs already got two pretty good looking aerial roots going on! Iâm gonna add a little bamboo skewer for now to try and offer it support as it grows and teach it to grow upward, as well as try to encourage more of those aerial roots. Once it gets bigger I am going to add a moss pole but for now I think it might be too small. Will update on her progress later onđ

I need some help with my monstera. I placed it outside a couple of weeks ago because of the warmer weather and bright sun. Iâm trying to get it to have new growth and make fenestrations. Ever since Iâve placed it outside one of the leaves has been droopy and itâs looked a little sad. I first thought it was just stress related to moving but it hasnât looked better. I donât know if itâs still lacking light or not enough water? I watered it yesterday and it didnât perk up at all. I know itâs probably ready to be moved further into the sun, but I donât want to scorch its leaves.
Any reason my monstera decided to toss out a leaf backwards? Iâve had it about two years and itâs never lost a leaf or had issues but this one isnât as fenestrated and is facing the back of the plant as pictured below
Hi guys! I just got a free ârehabâ monstera albo and Iâm not sure how to care for it. It had yellowing drooping leaves from the outside in, the stems were pretty hard/firm which I thought was initially under watered because the soil was very dry. When I inspected the roots I found it had around 6 inches of its main stem in the soil with 4 aerial roots. The very bottom of the stem had rotted a bit due to it being so deep into the soil. I cut all the rotted parts away and propagated each root into a 4 inch pot, and put the top cutting into water. I have never propagated a monstera before so Iâd appreciate any advice! Thank you
