update on Earl! i just moved him to a much smaller pot per your advice. There’s 3 baby leaves growing and the bottom and it’s hard to see but they’ve always been a little brown at the tips. Is that normal? Can I reverse it?

Hey! I have purchased a baby monstera amydrium and just wanted a little bit of advice to make sure I’m not killing it🫣. I have it in my little indoor greenhouse and I’m unsure if its getting either too much humidity or too much light. The edges of the leafs have started to turn a little black. It does get quite direct sunlight at the start of the day with light from a south east and south facing windows. Should I maybe move it somewhere a bit more shaded? I have tucked it behind some other plants if that helps? (Last picture just to show the light conditions -don’t mind my cats collection of boxes😂)

Hoping it’s not but.. Is this thrips? I also changed it from being near a window to directly in an east facing window recently.

Hello all! Please help. I got these three cuttings this summer (late August I think) at a farmer’s market in a vase. I kept them in water probably longer than I should have (until January) and the roots were fine — it even grew two new leaves in that time. I potted it with all purpose soil + extra perlite about six weeks ago and it has stayed droopy. It looked droopy when in water too but was still growing healthy roots and leaves. The yellowing on the one leaf (in photo) started maybe three weeks ago but isn’t getting worse and all other leaves look fine. The stems are all firm and seem healthy. The soil stays very wet for days after watering. I’m careful not to water if it still feels wet and I also have a moisture meter. I don’t really know what else I can do. It’s my only monstera and I see others looking so tall and beautiful I just want mine to thrive 😭 This may be long but I wanted to be thorough to get the best advice 😂 anything will be appreciated, thanks!

New plant parent here! I got this Monstera Adansonii a week ago and I noticed that the roots were coming out from underneath the pot quite a lot. Also the pot seems quite small compared to the size of the plant and how big it is. Does anyone have any advice regarding when to repot this plant? Should I wait some more?

Cat knocked over my monstera and a leaf took major damage. Should I cut off the stalk or leave it as it is?

Rescued this poor thing from my mother-in-law. She is ours now and my daughter named her Swissie 🙃 Any hope for her? She was really badly over-watered so I cleaned up her roots and put her new soil that I’m letting dry out for a week-ish. Her stalks feel quite rubbery and “bouncy” rather than firm and perky —yep, I said it. Good news is that she has ONE wee new leaf, so I’m taking this as a good sign 🤞

More repotting of a different monster. I got this one out of the trash, almost root bare, hardly any leaves on it, about 5 months ago. I wanted to wait until it was a little more acclimated to my house before tying it to a pole and giving it a good chop, but I don't think it has that much time. Looks overwatered, but I am pretty sure it got scorched in the sun since it sat outside for who knows how long with no shade and no soil on the roots. Hopefully she starts flourishing this coming spring and summer. Long fibre spagnum moss in the pole and a chunky mix with plenty of perlite in the pot. Downsized her pot as well but she also had some gorgeous roots with no rot, unlike the one I have with gnats

Hi guys 🙈 This is Apollo, I got him at a hardware store where I’m assuming they put more than one plant in the same pot. Now I’m struggling to keep him contained and wondering if y’all had any advice for how I should go about splitting him up? I think there are about 4 different plants in here 😅 He’s my first baby so I’m super attached lol so thank you guys in advance for all your help! 💚

This is my first Monstera plant! I bought a huge one for a friend when it was on sale and they gave me this little guy from it. It has about an inch and a half length root and a few smaller ones. When I first got it, I didn’t have soil or a planter for it, so I put it in straight water for maybe 36 hours. When I had the planter and soil available, I planted it. He looks really sad and I’m not sure if it’s from taking from the bigger plant, or the shock of water or the replanting in different soil. I’m still new to plant care, so any recommendations or tips on how to keep this guy alive would be much appreciated!

Top of my wish list plant came in the mail today! Has one long healthy root and another small root but no secondary roots yet. It was delivered in sphagnum moss and I’ve potted it with more. Does anyone have any tips? Should I wait for secondary roots before potting into aroid mix?

Okay y'all. My very first monstera got fungus gnats. Managed to keep them away for 5 years. I've since repotted it into a much smaller pot with better, more well draining and chunky soil, put it on a moss pole and watered it in with super thrive. I'm debating putting mosquito bits in the pot as well, but I'm pretty sure I got everything. Was in a big one gallon pot but has since died back, so now I've fit it really snug into a 6". Cross your fingers for me that this helps revive her 🫣

I potted my monstera into this pot years ago and it has still been putting out leaves, but idk if I could ever repot it if I needed to lol. I just aerated the soil and topped it off with fresh mix, so I might just keep doing that as needed and fertilizing until it stops growing and then just chop it up and start over?

Hi! I am a fairly new plant owner. I’ve always owned succulents and they’ve done well. Now that I’m into house plants I decide to go after my #1 and start my Monstera collection. I got her at Lowe’s. She’s still in her pot, I’ve done so much internet searching but to confirm my choices, which directional window is best? Rn she’s at my man’s house in an east window until I confirm she’s pest free. Do you water weekly? Mist? Shower with them? Bright or medium indirect light? How does your baby THRIVE? How do you choose to fertilize? I got this plant food but please tell me your choice of food and fertilizer! What soil do you use for tropical foliage! Thanks in advance 🪴🩷
