Iām going to be repotting my beautiful monstera tomorrow but Iām unsure what to do about the extra roots that are outside of the soil - do I bury them in the new soil or leave them as they are or cut them? Also any recommendations on what type of soil I should repot it in?
Hello new leaf..! š»
Can anyone suggest? Itās got slightly damp soil but not wet, not fully dry. I got this 3 weeks ago and repotted.
Here is my first plant, and the one that got me into plants now I have 50 + in my collection!
So I bought this Thai Con a few weeks ago. It was on sale because of its condition and was hoping I could bring it back. Iāve given it some chunkier soil and been careful not to overwater but Iām not sure if I should cut this damaged leaf off. And the nursery has cut a different stem and wasnāt sure if that has stunted its growth. Any tips?
I need help!! Something doesnt feel right about my monstera and i cant figure it out, she is very droopy and her growth is slowing down Also she has this broken leaf and i dont know if i should trim it or not? And if so how???
Welllll, Sponge Bob has an entirely new routine and setup. Heās no longer a soil baby! I spent the past 2-3 weeks acclimating him to tank water only and gently removing his soil roots as he melted them off⦠oooof those water roots came in so good and strong and now he lives happily in the big tank as part of the waterfall featureš (Side note, please excuse the rehab plants in the picture, throwing a failing plant in the tank is my ācure all last ditchā trickš¤)
šØURGENT HELP NEEDEDšØ My monstera adansonii albo is showing browning at the edges of the leaf, particularly in the variegated parts. Last night it was concerning, now itās starting to become disconcerting. Itās happening super fast! The browning is surrounded by somewhat transparent outline, with the dried up parts further in the affected areas. Out of the 8 leaves, only 2 are unaffected, and the two sprouting leaves seem to be fine (hopefully). This plant is 3ft from a grow light. I also recently used sphagnum moss on the top layer, which promptly grew molds, so i removed them, and replaced with perlite/activated charcoal/aqua soil mixture. The soil iām using is a succulent substrate in which the plant was happy in until it moved to my place. I also repotted it in a self-watering pot, similar to where it was first planted, but prettier. At the moment my house is at 70% humidity, and I havenāt even done anything to get there. Itās just what god intended for Dubai. Although the humidifiers are on the way to lessen the fluctuations as I am finicky when it comes to my AC. Could it be the common molds affecting the variegation? Could it be water imbalance? Maybe the grow light bouncing off the wall and compounding the heat output? Is it stress of moving houses? Thanks in advance for your help! Happy to share more details that i may have missed.
I think I over watered my monstera, the discoloration is getting worse. What should I do? Please help :(
Iām repotting my monstera. Which size is best, 6ā (terracotta pic) or 8ā? Itās been in the 6ā for over 2 years and I need new soil, it seems like itās still the best size, right?
just got my first monstera (a mini monstera, i believe)! two leaves have a crunchy brown part which i'm assuming is due to underwatering but input is greatly appreciated, as well as other tips!
Is this a good light setup for my monstera albo? I donāt know the brand of these lights the box just says āLED grow light sets.ā It currently sits about 1.5 feet away and is on the third brightest setting which isnāt super low or too bright. Will I need to acclimate this plant to the brightest setting at some point? I just got this plant about 4 days ago. Do I need to change the way this is angled? Another question, I have an east facing window where I get a lot of bright direct morning light. Can I move my monstera from direct morning light back to grow lights every day?
My oldest monstera just doing his thing!
Is my monstera a lost cause? I was gifted a water propagation almost 3 years ago and in that time Iāve only had two new leaves, and Iāve had to chop off one leaf. Now about to have to chop off another. I accidentally dropped my pot recently and lost soil so I know I need to repot it, but one of the leaves is now super yellow. Some of these roots look/feel brittle and dry. 1) Should I chop the yellow leaf completely? 2) Should I repot in the same container/size? Any other advice appreciated! Sadly the leaves have never developed fenestration, nor grown that large. I fear I must be doing something wrong?
My monstera hasnāt put out a new large leaf in about 3 months! It has steadily been giving at least 1 leaf per month. Iāve repotted, fertilize regularly, tons of west facing sunlight, and donāt overwater. Any thoughts??
New leaf on my Thai Constellation šš
My besties plant is having some problemsā¦sheās sun burnt. Please any advice to help her!!
I would love to have a monstera but I canāt fit one in my house, plus I donāt think I they are puppy safe. Do you think it would make a good classroom plant for a middle/high school? I really would love to have one. I do have a big southern facing window. Can monstera plants do well outside in their pots over the summer?
HELP!!! My monstera deliciosa somehow got root rot and is not doing well. I cut off all the rotten roots and put it in a super chunky mix to try to help it, but it still seems like itās dying. How do I salvage it??
