Is my Thai Con okay? I’ve had it since February and it’s putting out its 3rd leaf. I think it seems ok… but the leaves are pointing upwards (towards the light) and the two newest leaves don’t seem to be firming up; the two newest leaves being 1-3 months old at this point. The smaller baby leaves at the base seem to be browning (pictured).. is this normal for those little leaves to die off? I give it a good water every 2 weeks or so, and it gets 10ish hours under a grow light. Maybe too much light?
Our newest leaf finally opened! I love this plant! It’s definitely our favorite!
**Reviving My Monstera: A Two-Year Journey** Two years ago, I rescued a struggling Monstera from the clearance section at Home Depot—just three leaves and a $9 price tag. It was in rough shape, but I saw the potential and decided to give it a fresh start. To support its recovery, I **repotted** it into fresh soil, ensuring it had the right nutrients and space to grow. I consistently **maintained** it with regular misting, leaf cleaning, and careful monitoring of its environment. Positioned to the left of my bay window, it receives just the right balance of indirect but strong sunlight. Over time, it began growing vigorously, and once it gained strength, I started pruning to further encourage its development. Following **Planta’s maintenance tips**—plus a few clever YouTube hacks—helped me nurse it back to life. Now, two years later, it has grown wildly and beautifully. It’s still a bit untamed, but that’s part of its charm. Watching it flourish has turned into a rewarding hobby, proving that with the right environment and patience, even the most neglected plants can bounce back.
I was gifted this monestera in the current pot a year ago. I’m not great with plants yet so looking for advice. Should I repot ? Should I trim the dead stems ?
Hi!!! I need some opinions about my monstera. She’s growing nicely still and just put out a new leaf… but I’m sick of looking at her backside 🤣 I left her facing the window to be happy and now she’s leaning a lot. I should’ve started attaching her to a pole or trellis a while back but live and learn I guess. I am nervous that if I try to put the main stems upright to attach to a pole or trellis, I might snap it. Would you attempt it anyways and worst case, propagate if it snaps? I’d like to try to get her upright somehow and get a floor lamp looking grow light so that she can face the inside of the place rather than the window. Any recommendations on grow lights are very appreciated. I want to get one that is strong to promote more fenestration in future leaves. Thank you for suggestions!
WHAT IS THIS. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG. WHY IS THIS GROWING IN MY MONSTERA POT. HAAAAAALP.
I was gifted this Monstera a few days ago. It was damaged in transport and I’m not sure what to do. Advice?
Does anybody know a reputable place to get a healthy variegated monstera? Also, which type of variegated monstera is easiest to keep alive? I adore the look of them, but I’ve heard the variegated varieties can be fussier lol
Can someone help me determine if I picked up an m. Adonsonii or a m. Esqueleto? Got it for a low $ and in this cute hanging pot in a SW facing window
The beautiful but dreaded all white leaf. Will enjoy it for a bit before removing it. 🤍
Is this normal for monstera propagations??
Hey ya’ll, This may not be possible, but is there a way to straighten up my monstera? In my old apartment, the position I had room for it in caused that kinda twisted growth pattern. It kinda makes it hard to have specific places to put it. It’d look nicer also to have it go upwards instead of being a hunchback!
My sister gave me this beauty and so proud of it. Thanks for sharing your green thumb with Planta it will all Be alright!!
hey hey! i just treated myself to this thai con from home depot in one of these self watering pots. the plant itself looks good but i lifted the nursery pot out and it’s looking a little scary under there…. some white stuff, maybe mold? should i repot it with a chunky soil mix? and how much light should she be getting?
Hi everyone! I just got 2 new monsteras, one fairly well established Thai-con and one small albo! And tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated <3
dont know if someone can help me, im new to the plant game. my swiss cheese monstera that grew mold in the dirt a few days ago so i repotted it. few days later, mold again. its in the sun a lot to help dry it up (not in picture), so is this a me problem or a plant problem?
My Thai Con officially has double fenestrations! 🌱💫
My TC hasn’t seen progress in a few months. All my plants flourish except for this one. It’s under a soltech grove light. Maybe I need it turn it up and have it on for 12 hours? Right now it’s on a lower setting for 8 hours. This grew like gang busters in a mere 4 months from a 3” plant, but it seems like it just stopped.
My monstera is getting too tall. Can I just cut the top and propagate it? But then do I also keep the base?
