juniper update… he’s pregnant again!!! i was too busy watching his new leaf open i didn’t even notice he was pregnant again!! what an exciting find this morning!
Hello!!! I recently bought this beauty on Marketplace, it’s seeming to adapt well to my space and loving the light! I have lots of plants but am a bit new to proper care, and what to do to make them thrive the best! Any tips and ticks would be appreciated!! I have bough some moss stakes… opinions?
The good news is I have a new leaf coming, the bad news is I’m losing my fenestrated leaf. I was worried it was planted too deep. I’ve got it under more light now. This is a water rooted propagation planted in December. How does the new leaf look? Kind of pale?
Can anyone help me with the what is going on? I did repot her over the summer and she’s in an indoor mix with perlite. I have her under a grow light as well.
I have a question I repotted my monstera yesterday to a slightly bigger pot since it’s so big and I had a feeling that it was holding a lot of moisture on the pot that it was on originally but I notice this and it used to be green and I don’t water my monstera often because it’s stays moist so I wait until she is dry can anyone tell me what’s going on ?
I got this swiss cheese monstera a couple weeks ago and there are already brown spots forming. 😭 can anyone help??
Thank you all for helping me on my last post! This gal is my first Monstera and it’s doing well! I wanted to grow my monstera in LECA, so as soon as I got it I cleaned the roots and put it into water. I will leave it there until it has enough water roots before properly repotting with LECA. Maybe it will take a couple months in water from what I’ve read. I have been changing the water regularly to get rid of the soil roots that are falling out, and I don’t see any water roots just yet, but I doo see signs that the plant is happy, the one leaf that was kind of unfurling has almost fully opened and it’s looking great, and the other one that was just coming out looks like it’s starting to open. The one thing that worries me is the two brow spots in that new leaf but it was already there and it doesn’t look like it’s getting worse so not sure what to do about it… Anyway. Thanks for the tips and I can’t wait to repot this baby monster 🩷🩷🩷 PS: The LECA in the pics is not doing anything other than propping the plant up as this vase is too tall :)
Hi! First monstera owners here. I got this plant 2 months ago and it has not grown an inch. And now the baby leaves are turning yellow and flimsy what do I do? Or what could be a potential problem? I have it in a south facing window but it rarely gets direct light but gets a lot of indirect light. I also mist it often,, have a pebble tray and bought a portable humidifier. Please help
I just got my monstera a month or so ago and she’s doing great in terms of growing new leaves! I haven’t repotted due to the weather but the leaves keep leaning over. I’m trying to keep her rotating but they seem to lean either to one side or another. They’re not floppy at all. I’ve only got a relatively small north facing window at my disposal and in British winter I fear this might be the issue. What does everyone else think?
I’m just proud she’s growing healthy :)
I’m new 😃 figured I’d show off my monstera
Hi, looking for tips for my monstera. I got her about a year and a half ago and she’s growing so fast I’m assuming she needs a bigger pot? If this is the case should I wait until the spring to re pot? My kitten tipped her over the other day and she lost some dirt, not sure if that changes things or not. Also not sure what to do about the droopy leaves. Any tips would be helpful, thanks!!!
Enjoying some winter sunlight
After taking care of my friend’s monstera for a few months I was so amazed by how fast they grow that I got my very own from a hardware store in September! I’m honestly really proud of how far he’s come !! Since getting him I’ve seen the first leaf with fenestrations grow in and two more after that. I got him a plant stand and a post on which to climb, and I regularly rearrange leaves and retie them around the post to make sure it’s not growing too far out. I did have a general question about caring for the plant as it gets older. Namely, when I’ve seen other monsteras they typically have a lot less leaves and they’re all pretty big. Mine has a lot of small old leaves and I was wondering if I should leave them alone or cut them off as my plant grows. Is this normal for a monstera? Do older monsteras look “cleaner” because those leaves have fallen off or because people prune them? And if I do need to prune them to make room for newer leaves, how do I do that?
A few months ago I was waffling over if I should repot my monstera or wait until spring. After some encouragement, thanks to everyone who talked me through it, I went ahead and did it. She turned out to be so root bound I almost couldn’t get her out of the pot! If I had waited till spring I would have had to take a hammer to the pot to get her out. 🔨 Now Ursula is doing wonderfully! She has not yet pushed out a new leaf, but the youngest leaf has hardened off beautifully. Also, I think she’s focusing on her roots right now. 🍃 😊
Helppp😩😩 what do i do?? Roots are amazing but leaves barely holding on. And why does this happen?!
kitten snuck into my room and got to my new thai con recently and of course decided to do this to the new half white leaf. She’s still unfurling, will she heal up and keep growing or should I chop and preserve her? 🥺😭 (and if I should chop, where on the stem should I cut??)
Help!! My poor monstera is dying!! It’s been yellowing leaves like crazy (I’ve already removed over four fully yellowed/browned leaves ) I’ve had this monstera since September 2023 and had it in the corner in between a large north facing window and a high small east facing window. I had moved it to the other side away from the north facing window but still next to the east facing one. It then began yellowing and drooping so I moved it back (not in the corner but next to the north facing window) after about a week or so. It’s still yellowing and I can’t put it back to the corner because of its size and the arrangement of my furniture T_T is it really the light that’s the problem or could it be something else?
New plant milestone: I now can’t move my deliciosa without help
