Hi plant people! Question for you. I just watered my monstera yesterday and noticed water dripping out of the leaves. Is this okay? Is it normal? I’m worried i might be watering it too much

most leafy foliage plants do this with excess water. my ceylon philo is doing it as we speak — my pothos all do it — my monstera sometimes does it. as long as there are no other signs of overwatering — like black leaves or soft yellow spots & it’s not sitting in water — this is just a normal way plants expel excess moisture

I did start checking the soil a little better when it’s time to water so it’s more dry when it’s time and it hasn’t done it as much. Which without other signs of overwatering it’s not a big deal unless you’re also worried about whatever surface the plant is dripping on.
2 J'aimeThis is called guttation and it’s completely normal

Just always remember to water a little bit less next time only because if there always a constant drip it can rot the tip of the leaves so always pay attention when plants start guttation and water next time accordingly
