I recently got a monsters albo off of marketplace and I noticed the leaves starting to droop so I did some investigation and it turns out the plant has major root rot and hardly no roots at all. All of the root system is brown and squishy. Is there any way I can save this poor guy? He’s the most expensive plant I’ve bought and I’d be sad to see him go.

To add to this the plant does have a new lead coming which it didn’t when I first got it so I’m not sure what the best plan is.

Cut the root off, till you see no brown, let it callous over then pop it in a plastic container with sphagnum moss.

How often should I water the moss? I’ve never propagated in moss before. Should it always be wet?

Only once, when it’s in the tub with the lid on, it will keep its own humidity so you won’t need to water it again :) Also it should be moist, and not dripping wet

I’ve had very good results using hydrogen peroxide on roots to prevent very early signs of root rot, and to stave it off. This is on hydroponics so maybe less relevant but I find my hydroponics’ roots grow twice as fast when I use hydrogen peroxide (sparingly)
