I got this lovely albo top cutting around June last year. At the time it was two leaves. I gave it ages to grow luscious roots and planted it and then waited and waited and waited. It finally grew its first (beautifully variegated) new leaf late November, and I hoped that was the start of it coming to life but there’s no sign of any more leaves coming. It seems very healthy, but even now that it’s spring and my other non-variegated monsteras are shooting out leaves like nobody’s business, there’s nothing new on this one. It’s my first propagated monstera, do I just need to continue patiently waiting or does it need something different?

Do you use a grow light and humidifier? that will help

It’s in a south facing window so is getting plenty of light. I don’t have a humidifier as I’m in one of the UK’s rainiest spots and our house is over 100 years old so there’s naturally a lot of humidity, but might misting help?

Yes but rather then misting get you some beautiful rocks or stones wash them off really good then fill up a tray and make a pebble tray. Fill the water just enough to come to the top of the rocks but not over it, then sit your plant on the tray so it get constant humidity. Misting can leave water settling on the leaves which can lead to a powdery mildew and that could be another issue. The pebble tray just needs to be refilled as it evaporates around your plant. Just make sure the actual pot is not sitting in water so it does not affect your roots to cause root rot. So the section you sit the pot in make sure the rocks is a little higher in that spot. My fiddle leaf loves a humidity so I keep it on a pebble tray and I only refill when the water has evaporated.

That sounds great, I don’t have space for a tray where it is now but I’ll see how to rejig things to give it a try. I live near the sea so could pick up some nice rounded stones for it there ☺️

Also give it a moss pole or brace it with support so the stems can attach and grow straight up to climb.

It has a small support at the moment, but it’s still just three leaves and showing no inclination to grow or climb or latch on to anything at all 🤷🏻

Once you add the pole the nodes will get the idea to travel.

Be careful with misting and humidifiers (if you decide to try one) if you live somewhere humid.
