Hello everyone! I got this plant a few days ago for Christmas and a day after adding it to my living room it got sick. I first thought of a watering issues because the soil was very dry when I got it. But the watering didn’t make it better, it even got worse. I thought it might be cold damage because I had to carry it outside to my home for 5min in -10 Celsius. Could anyone tell me what I can do to save it? Thank youuu

Check the dirt it could have bugs . I changed mine when I got it to coco coir, bark and perlite and it’s 2.5 years old now and thriving. If you’re in cold weather Get a grow light and pole for it and tie it on the pole. Lots of light and clean dirt!

Cut all of those damaged leaves off. If theyre still healthy green in the center, you can just trim the edges. Those much darker leaves are definitely showing burst cells/edema. If this happened overnight night it could have been the cold.

I read online that they can get cold damage in just a few seconds with near freezing temps. My was exposed to -5 or -10 Celsius for 5 to 10min. I didn’t expect them to be that sensitive. I did what you suggested. Thank you

Yea. Someone on here had the door open for short minutes and got freeze damage on theirs, it was crazy.

It seems to be fighting back and some leaves are great, I’ve cut the others off or trimmed them. I made up a recommended potting mix but I just think the change from its existing to the new earth was too much for it. They do say only go up by an inch or two with the pots. I went up by 4 inches so loads of new earth.
